An Evening with the Nightowls

The Nightowls are an AWESOME Soul/Motown band from Austin Texas. Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing, and photographing, their show at The Hamilton Live in Washington DC.

The band is currently on its first US tour in support of their newest cd, "Fame Sessions." Led by lead vocalist, Ryan Harkrider and the backing vocals of  Tyler Carmen and Tara Williamson the band sounded fantastic from start to finish.

Their show is engaging and energetic, sometimes invoking memories of James Brown and other Motown greats. At times, members of the audience just wanted to scream and shout!

I hope you don't think I'm biased just because my cousin is in the band! :) The Nightowls truly are incredible  and I highly recommend catching their show if they come to your area.

Opening the show was the Australian duo, Falls. They performed a fantastic short set to get everyone ready for The Nightowls.  

What a great night it was at the Hamilton!!
